Katya has worked as a gallery assistant for the James Hockey Gallery in Farnham, Surrey for over a year and has installed for PhD students, Grad Shows, Staff exhibitions and resident artists. She works closely with both artists and curators to carefully install works to their precise requirements, sometimes offering a range of her own ever-expanding suggestions and ideas for exhibitions with looser instal plans.

She has assisted with several of her classmates’ own installations including Freerange 2024 in the Truman Brewery, where her own work was also shown; and ‘Change Horses Midstream’ for HYPHA Studios in 2024. Katya had the opportunity several times throughout her BA Photography course to assist and run curational efforts for interim and final exhibitions for her class, taking a lead role in most of them as she is very interested in a career in curation.

Having the opportunity to deal so closely with various exhibited works, including but not limited to glass and ceramic works, photographic prints, paintings, and sculptures, Katya finds her work in the gallery completely captivating.
