For her final BA Degree project Katya produced a collection of images for her project titled Undisclosed, named in reference to the invisible nature of most disabilities. Katya had a carefully selected series of six images exhibited in several locations in the southeast of England throughout 2024. Strongly prompted by her own life’s experiences and the research she undertook for her BA dissertation, written earlier that year about disability representation in popular media; Katya produced this project with the help of a fellow classmate and friend who also lives with an invisible illness, collaborative and assistive help was logistically necessary considering the content of her images was primarily her own body.

Building on a practice documenting the world around her and the spaces she inhabits, Undisclosed explores what everyday life looks like for someone living with invisible illness. Katya photographs her body interacting with her surroundings, allowing the body success in its demands for rest. With a hint of humour and absurdity, Katya brings awareness to the large portion of the disabled population that lives with invisible illnesses and disabilities.
